Lucy Kumara Moore is a writer, curator and cultural consultant. She has a deep understanding of the intersection of fashion, art and commerce and a rare combination of visual and linguistic intelligence.
Moore is an experienced brand editor and has worked on language for clients including Burberry, Mulberry, Wales Bonner, Repossi, Chopova Lowena, Tommy Hilfiger and Martine Rose. Her output covers tone of voice, product copy, press releases, exhibition material and creative writing for special projects.
In 2017, Moore curated a major exhibition of post-war social documentary photography for Burberry, providing the setting for Christopher Bailey’s penultimate show at the brand. The exhibition toured to Hong Kong and Paris and was met with critical acclaim. Her curating work continues with Sion and Moore, a gallery project focusing on contemporary photography, which she established with Kim Sion in 2018.
Moore regularly conducts interviews both for print and also in front of an audience – recent live interviews include Hussein Chalayan (at Frieze Art Fair, 2019), Yang Li (at Photo London, 2019) and Susie Cave of The Vampire’s Wife (at Charleston Festival, 2023).
She has edited and published many books including 25 Years of Arena Homme+, VAPE SHOP OLYMPIA (by Peter De Potter) Fragile Face Lay Flat (by Venetia Scott) and Yuhan Wang 2018 (by Laura Jane Coulson).
Magazines that regularly commission her include apartamento, The Plant, Vogue Italia, Arena Homme+, POP, Artforum, Luncheon, Marfa Journal and AnOther.
Moore has been Director of Claire de Rouen, the iconic London bookshop, since 2012.
