London based Film Maker and Photographer Ronan Gallagher moved to the UK from his native Ireland in 2009. Quickly gaining acclaim for his documentary work, Ronan’s early success culminated in a debut first solo exhibition in 2010 at ‘Yatra’ which explored the sub cultures of India.
Highlighting the beauty that can be found within normally overlooked groups, individuals and moments is a theme that runs consistently throughout Ronans work. He describes his process simply as “looking for the beauty in subjects that we usually walk past” These beautiful moments are captured using his distinctive warm low light, resulting in a combination which gives us real, un-fabricated moments displayed in a style that evokes a feeling of richness and luxury.
This unique method of working is equally evident within both his stills and moving image, making Ronan a truly multidisciplinary artist. This world of beauty and reality has been recognised and utilised across numerous disciplines. Whether it is a personal documentary project or a high-end fashion film, Ronan’s positive and unique eye is unmistakable.
