London-based filmmaker and photographer Ronan Gallagher moved to the UK from his native Ireland in 2009. Garnering acclaim for his documentary work from the outset, Ronan's first solo exhibition, 'Yatra' was held in 2010 and explored Indian subcultures. Ronan describes his process simply as “looking for the beauty in subjects that we usually walk past”. His preference for warm, low light bestows a feeling of richness onto the real.
Ronan’s observant eye and warmth of vision is present in all his work, whether a personal documentary project or a high end fashion film. Clients include Gucci, Coach and Stella McCartney. Ronan has also made work for Dazed, The Gentlewoman and Document Journal.
His exhibition Yatra was held at Lenoard Street in Shoreditch and his first book, Italy, was published in 2016.
