London-based filmmaker Eddie Whelan began making experimental films and music in Athens, Georgia, under the name Eddie the Wheel. He has worked in fashion since 2011 when he came to the attention of photographer David Sims. Eddie and Sims formed a close collaborative relationship and worked together on projects for Alexander McQueen, Proenza Schouler, Jil Sander and Arena Homme + magazine.
Since moving to London in 2013, Eddie has continued to develop his idiosyncratic approach to form, texture and the filmmaking process, producing highly original and evocative work. A multidisciplinary artist, Eddie often works across stills, video and sound composition, on multiple formats, independently and on a collaborative basis.
Recent clients include Versus Versace, Sportmax, Yang Li, Hillier Bartley, Pop magazine, Love magazine and Mimi Wade.
