London-based filmmaker Eddie Whelan began making experimental films and music in Athens, Georgia, under the name 'Eddie the Wheel'. His almost decade-long connection with the fashion industry was sparked off when he came to the attention of photographer David Sims. Eddie and Sims formed a close collaborative relationship and worked together on projects for Alexander McQueen, Proenza Schouler, Jil Sander and Arena Homme + magazine.
Eddie's idiosyncratic approach to form, texture and the filmmaking process itself produces highly original and evocative moving image. His multidisciplinary approach sees him working across stills, video and sound on multiple formats, both independently and on a collaborative basis.
Recent clients include Versus Versace, Sportmax, Yang Li, Hillier Bartley and Mimi Wade. He has contributed to POP and LOVE magazines.
